Test Engineer

To extend our European team | M/F, 40 hrs. | Work location: Madrid, Spain


Job summary:

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to create and execute exploratory and structured manual test activities during product development, beta tests and as final release acceptance step.

QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.

The QA engineer is part of the QA team doing testing and final acceptance of all Astrata products and services. You will be working on one or several platforms and become a product expert as well as exchange knowledge and experience with the rest of the team.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Being part of the test team and working together with developers and product managers, you will be responsible for defining test setup, creating test plans and test cases, executing tests in the lab environment and on different vehicles in the customer environment.
  • Create/maintain/review test scripts, making changes where necessary to align with changing requirements or improving the test process.
  • Identify, record and present bug reports; track progress and perform acceptance tests.
  • Review user stories and acceptance criteria, write test scenarios and test cases, occasionally build automated tests when needed, write test acceptance documents.
  • Occasionally install test equipment in a customer vehicle and execute tests on the road (together with a driver).

Embedded Software Engineer

To extend our European team | M/F, 40 hrs. | Work location: Madrid, Spain


Job summary:

The Embedded Engineering team of Astrata Europe develops services and applications for the European market for our mobile platforms.


Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of programming in C++ (C# and Java experience is preferred).
  • Programming for embedded/automotive platforms.
  • Knowledge of several platforms, e.g. ARM/Win CE/Win XP/Android.
  • Experience of working with mobile telecom networks is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience of designing for performance and system stability.
  • Knowledge and affinity with test methodologies, e.g. unit/module testing, system test automation techniques.
  • Experience with Software and System integration.

Technical Support Specialist German / Dutch

To extend our European team | M/F, 40 hrs. | Work location: Eindhoven, The Netherlands


Job summary:

The Technical Support Specialist provides first line support to our customers. An extensive product and support training program will be part of the start-up phase of the job.


Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor working and thinking level, acquired by education or work experience,
  • Work experience in a technical support environment,
  • Service and customer minded,
  • Strong troubleshooting, ability to define problems and create solutions effectively and efficiently, analysis skills,
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Fluent in German, Dutch and English (verbal and written), knowledge of other European languages (written and verbal) is considered a plus,
  • Ability to work with deadlines in a dynamic environment,
  • Flexible and independent worker and team player
